As reported last autumn, the Helmholtz Centre Dresden Rossendorf (HZDR) is installing an experimental facility at its premises to prove the CEEGS cycle at the laboratory scale.
To operate a thermo-fluid dynamic facility at high pressure, certain safety measures need to be implemented. One of the most crucial measures is the pressure test. In this procedure, water is pumped throughout the entire facility to achieve and maintain high pressure.
The pressure test was conducted at the CEEGS facility at HZDR, reaching approximately 130 bars and being sustained for one hour in the presence of an independent inspection body.
Consequently, the tested parts of the facility are confirmed to be safe for operation.
Stay tuned for more updates about the experimental facility!
