Earlier this autumn, the two main heat exchangers HXW and HXI of the experimental facility at the Helmholtz Centre Dresden Rossendorf (HZDR) were installed. The design, assembling, and operation of the facility is part of the work package 5 and shall prove the CEEGS cycle at the laboratory scale.
The assembled heat exchangers transfer the heat to the hot and cold storage during the charging cycle and vice versa during the discharge cycle.
Thus, these components play a vital role for the overall performance of the system and the finished installation is an important step within the project.
