As you might have read in previous posts, the Helmholtz Centre Dresden Rossendorf (HZDR) has installed an experimental facility at its premises to prove the CEEGS cycle at the laboratory scale.
Before the conclusion of the project, the CEEGS technology was tested in special situations at this facility. In real-life applications, the technology would have to be turned on and off many times. Each time, the pressure and temperature inside it would need to change. Instead, scientists at HZDR tested this by slowly increasing the pressure up to 240 bar while the temperature was about 185 °C. They used the results to see how well the CEEGS technology worked when starting or shutting down.
