Project coordinator Ricardo Chacartegui from the University of Seville wrote in this introduction:
“In the second year of the CEEGS Project, relevant advances in the different systems have been made. The project is advancing with hard work and encouraging results. The geological system was deeply analysed in WP2, providing a clear vision of the opportunities and challenges for different geological scenarios to implement the energy storage concept with CO2 injection and extraction.
Preliminary designs of main components under the conditions required for the conceptual system have successfully demonstrated possible designs and integrations for a good operation of components and the global system.
During this period, the experimental facility has already been finished and commissioned.
These results make us optimistic for the next period and further advances in the CEEGS concept. Tests will be performed in the experimental facility, models and the digital twin will be finished, and social acceptance will be assessed.”
